An Introduction

My name is Adam and at the start of the pandemic I challenged myself to write the kind of adventure fantasy novel that I would want to read. I’ve always had stories bouncing around in my head pretty much my whole life, with no medium off-limits to bringing them to life.

I knew writing a fantasy novel would take a ton of persistence and learning on the fly. Still, I wanted to put everything I’ve picked up as a lover of fantasy fiction about world building and storytelling into something that felt like my kind of fantasy book.

Fast-forward four years: I don’t have a publishing deal, I haven’t won any awards, and I’m definitely not giving TED Talks about “the writer’s journey.” But I do have over 550 pages I’m proud of, and I’m closer than I’ve ever been to finishing this thing.

With my book GODS, GOLD, and GOBLINS finally nearing the finish line, I figured I’d start this little corner of the internet to share the last stretch of the process. Maybe it’ll help someone else who’s trying to get their own story out of their head and into a real medium, whether that’s a book, a script or screenplay, a graphic novel, a D&D campaign, or whatever medium you prefer.
